Welcome to Bluff Park Senior Adult Ministry!  Bluff Park has a heart for persons 55+ and Friends.  We offer ministry to, by and with maturing adults.  God has made you for a purpose.  Find your purpose here at Bluff Park through service, learning and worship.

Bluff Park United Methodist Church has many events for people Fifty-Five Forward. Adventurous  travel, educational speakers, heartwarming  experiences, mission opportunities, music, movies, dancing, exercise, archery, sports, grilling out, fishing and concerts are all a part of the fun. Bluff Park’s Director of Senior Adults is Fran Latham Gatch. Fran grew up in Jasper, AL and studied Education at Samford University and Religious Education at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. She and her husband have served churches in  Indiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Fran is married to The Reverend Michael Gatch.  Michael has worked as Director of Pastoral Care and Mission Integration for St. Vincent’s Health Care and Vice President of Mission Integration for St. Thomas Health, Nashville, TN.   They have one young adult daughter, Lauren Elizabeth.

Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Hopkins, Dean School of the Arts, Samford University, are two of the finest, most accomplished artists in Birmingham.  Come and enjoy their exquisite talent as they share popular, broadway, classical, tradition and contemporary songs.

SHEPHERD’S CENTER

Bluff Park Shepherd’s Center is an outreach program of Bluff Park United Methodist Church for older adults in our community.  BPUMC enriches the lives of aging adults through fellowship, learning opportunities, food and fun.

Meets each Thursday

9:30 a.m.  Coffee and Fellowship

10:00 a.m.  Program

11:00 a.m.   Classes, games, exercise

Lunch at noon – cost $3

        1:00 p.m.  More Games!
