Bluff Park UMC Youth Ministry Sundays

A LOT happens on Sundays in Student Ministry…

Sunday School. At 10 am we meet in the Youth Wing for Sunday School and snacks. We offer two classes:

  • 6th-8th Grade. We have a two-year overview, going over major events and lives of the Old Testament and the New Testament using creative resources such as videos and art.
  • 9th-12th Grade. We apply what we’ve learned about our faith to our family, friendships, school and world around us. We also apply what we’ve learned as we prepare for life after high school.

Holy Ground Team Rehearsal. At 4:00 pm our Worship Team meets in the Holy Ground Room in the Youth Wing to prepare for our Wednesday worship service.

Sunday Night Events. On Sunday evenings, we have a monthly rotation of events for students.

Worship – Usually on the first week of each month, we’ll have a very unique worship night. There might be games, guest speakers, a very specific theme and a helpful devotion for starting the week.

Serve – We’ll divide up into teams to make a difference in our community. Students may be making sandwiches for the homeless, visiting the elderly, praying through the halls of a local school, or sorting and packing donations for our Room 35226 Project.

Reach – This is a crazy fun event like a Rodeo with a mechanical bull in our parking lot, Bubble Soccer in our gym, or renting out a local skating rink.

Wildcard – You never know what will happen on the last Sunday of the month. We may be cooking out in someone’s backyard or meeting at Patton Creek for dinner and a movie.

These events start at 5pm and usually wrap up around 7pm. In addition to the fun stuff, you can expect a FREE snack, a short devotion, a discussion and prayer. Every 6th-12th grader is invited so expect you to bring your friends. Occasionally, we’ll go somewhere or there will be a fee, so be sure to check the events calendar for updates.
