The first of the sign/miracles in John’s Gospel, Jesus attends a wedding in Cana of Galilee with his mother and his disciples. When the wine runs out at the multiday wedding feast, Jesus turns six large jars of water into wine. But this is a sign that points to something more. It is more than just a miracle of turning water into wine; the wine and the wedding all point to the meaning of Jesus and his relationship to God and to us all.
