BRIEFLY DESCRIBE YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: My pastoral work includes worship planning, occasional preaching, teaching Sunday school classes and Bible studies, leading LifePath Strengths classes, making hospital visits and checking in with people on the prayer list. Besides sharing these pastoral duties with the other ministers, I work with the Church Life committee planning church-wide, inter-generational events like the Chili Cook-Off in January and the Fall Block Party in October that, at times, also invite the community to join us. I also work with the Education committee to provide small-group programming when needed.

WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND? I have a Bachelor’s degree in Music from UNA and a Master of Divinity Degree from Memphis Theological Seminary.  I served on staff at Helena UMC for 14 years as the assistant to the Director of Fine Arts and Worship.  My main responsibility was planning and coordinating the children’s music program called Children and the Arts.  While there, as the church began to grow, other responsibilities were added and God’s call into ordained ministry was renewed.  Upon graduation from seminary, I was appointed as Associate at Helena UMC.  Before coming to Bluff Park, I served as the pastor at Harpersville UMC for 5 ½ years.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB? The people and relationships forged through ministry.
