WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?  I received a BA in Religion from Birmingham Southern College and a Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.  Before starting at BPUMC, I served as the pastor over Mission and Discipleship at Riverchase United Methodist Church.  I also spent time working at Highland Park United Methodist Church while in seminary in Dallas, TX.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB?  I love what I do.  I especially enjoy preaching, teaching, and pastoral care.  My favorite part of ministry is building relationships with folks in the church.  I love walking with people through life, whether it is a time of celebration or grief.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY: I am married to Madison Furio, a 5th grade teacher at Shades Mountain Elementary in Hoover, AL.  Madison and I grew up together in Homewood, AL, and have actually known each other since pre-school.  We have a 3-year-old golden retriever named Doc and absolutely love living and working in Bluff Park.

FAVORITE THING TO DO AWAY FROM WORK?  I love all things music, so I have a record collection that I enjoy often, and try to catch every bit of live music in Birmingham that I can.  I also love spending time outdoors at the lake, hiking, camping, and exercising.  Madison and I love cooking together, and hosting friends at our home for good meals and good conversation, and working on projects to improve our home.  We do our best to live life to the fullest!
