A People of One Book and Four Guides – Being Methodist in the Bible Belt” – S02E02 of Table Talk with Mike and Angela

Welcome to the Table Talk with Mike and Angela podcast. We’re pastors Mike Holly and Angela Martin and we want to help you understand more about the Bible, faith, and living a faithful life.  In each episode of Table Talk, we sit down for a conversation about a wide range of topics. We often invite other staff members at Bluff Park UMC to join in.  Listen in and experience God in new ways and take those important next steps that help us all weave together a life of faith and service!

Episode 2: A People of One Book and Four Guides

In the second season of Table Talk with Mike and Angela, we explore Being United Methodist in the Bible Belt by looking at F. Belton Joyner, Jr.’s important book by the same name. The goal is to help United Methodist Christians understand what is unique and distinct about the denomination as well as what unites us with other Christian denominations in the worldwide Christian family. During this four-week series, we will look through several core beliefs and practices of United Methodism and help all people to appreciate the importance of faith, grace, love, and action within the Christian life.

On today’s podcast, Mike and Angela discuss the importance of community, Scripture, and other guides to help us live as people of faith and holy practices. To be a United Methodist is to be a part of a global church that is fairly and consistently organized and where each and every person is encouraged to grow in faith and love. Listen in to hear about our “connexion” and the Wesleyan Quadrilateral!
