Children are a very important part of our congregation. Our goal is to help children from infancy through 5th grade with their spiritual development and well being. Because they are so important we have a Child Protection First Policy in place and require a background check on all volunteer and paid staff who work with our children.
Upcoming Events for Kids!
SUMMER EVENTS ANNOUCEMENT
Due to COVID concerns and the subsequent inability to recruit an adequate number of volunteers to safely run our normal Vacation Bible School and Camp on the Bluff, we will only be offering VBS and COTB to our church members this year. Additionally, both ministries will look different this year and will only be offered to Bluff Park UMC attendees.
Camp on the Bluff will be held on Monday through Thursday June 7-10 from 9:00am-12:00pm each day. We will be offering Dance, Gardening, Indoor Soccer, Science, and Arts and Crafts camps. The children who attend would stay in their designated areas for the entire three hours each day, and Mr. Stanley would travel to each camp throughout the day to do a Bible lesson. There would be no early drop off or aftercare, and Camp this year would not include lunch. The cost of Camp on the Bluff will be $40 this year.
Vacation Bible School will be held on Monday through Thursday July 12-15 from 6:00pm-7:30pm each night. Children who attend will be divided into 3-4 groups that meet in three of the larger rooms in our church. Each group would stay in their room for the entire time, and the Bible Story Time, Imagination Station, and Music teachers/volunteers would visit each room for 25-30 minutes each. No dinner would be provided. Because we were unable to have our crucial fundraiser, Bargains on the Bluff this past fall, we will be charging for VBS this year. The price will be $10 per participant and will include a t-shirt and one music CD per family in addition to all the supplies required. A family max charge of $30 will apply.
We are heartbroken that we are not able to offer these two ministries to our community this year, but we truly believe this is the safest way to offer VBS and COTB for our volunteers and the children of our church. We cannot wait to offer both of these ministries in their normal capacity in summer of 2022.
