When Jesus walked the Earth, wood was a scarce resource. Damaged and broken wood was still a valuable resource and part of the carpenter’s work was to reclaimed those damaged pieces and transform them into something new and valuable. That is the heart of Jesus’ ministry. The world was broken by sin and he came to reclaim it and transform it into something new.
