Epiphany is when we celebrate the visit of the Magi to Jesus and ends the season of Christmas. We reflect on the gifts that they bring. Each gift is something more than the sum of its parts. Each gift symbolically represents to us to something about who the Christ-child is: gold as in tribute to a King; frankincense as is burned on the altar of incense at the Temple in worship of God; myrrh as a powerful perfume used in the burial of the dead. This begs the question for us, what is the perfect gift we can offer?
