The story of Saul becoming Paul on the road to Damascus is the only time we hear about Ananias in the Bible. Jesus comes to him in a dream and tells him to go to Saul, talk to him, heal him, and baptise him. This is the same Saul who has been persecuting Christians. Ananias follows his call with faith and courage, and helps transform Saul into Paul – the most important leader in the growth of the early church.
