BRIEFLY DESCRIBE YOUR JOB: Through programs, worship services, Sunday School, Bible studies, mission projects/trips, and events, I strive to help the children of our church and community learn who Jesus Christ is, how much Jesus Christ loves them, how they can form a relationship of some kind with Jesus Christ, how they can grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ, and how they can take what they have learned and experienced about the love of Jesus Christ and pour that love out into their friends, their family, their community, and the world.
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND? I have an Associate Degree in Science from Young Harris College, a Bachelor’s degree in History with a Minor in Business from Georgia Southern University, and a Master’s of Divinity Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. I worked at BB&T in Atlanta for 3 years after college before accepting my first job as a Director of Children’s Ministry in Conyers, GA. I moved to Hoover and accepted the Director of Children’s Ministry job here at BPUMC in May 2015. I was ordained a Deacon in the United Methodist Church in 2018.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB? I have the privilege of getting to know and watching the children of our church grow from birth to 5th grade. My favorite part of my job is seeing the kids of our church slowly grow in their knowledge and love of God, their faith in Jesus, and their love of others during that time!
TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY: I have been married to my beautiful wife Stephanie for 13 years, and together we have two amazing children: Gavin (9) and Katie (4)! We also have two dogs: Pickles (old and lazy) and Peaches (wild and rambunctious)!
FAVORITE THING TO DO AWAY FROM WORK? When away from work, I love to spend time with my family, read, run, watch sports, watch movies, and play disc golf!
